Gregory W. Wagner
Greg Wagner gained appointment to the Council in December
2002 to serve out the balance of an existing term and after
winning election began his first full term on 1 July 2004 (ends
July 2008). Greg serves as the Chair of the Ways and Means
and Economic Development Committees and is a member of
the Transportation Committee. Prior to serving on
Council, Greg was on the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board for over four years and chair for two years. An
advocate for walkable communities, Greg was a member of
the Loudoun County Bike and Pedestrian Mobility Commission
that drafted and saw enacted the County’s multi-modal
Mobility Master Plan later adopted by the Town. He remains active in promoting initiatives in and around Town to improve pedestrian access and mobility.
Greg is a human capital management consultant, a certified Senior Human Resource Professional and a focus group director. With over 22 years of military service, Greg continues to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves and is the executive officer of the Maryland State Detachment of the Selective Service System.
Greg moved to Purcellville in 1998 after leaving active duty with the military. He first visited Purcellville in 1982 while dating his wife, Debbie, who grew up in Leesburg and had family residing in Town. Greg and Debbie have a son, Brian, a student at Blue Ridge Middle School. They are restoring a 1905 Vernacular home on Orchard Drive and try to fit some gardening and golf in around attending soccer matches.
